To prevent you from finding yourself in this kind of embarrassing situation in the middle of a meeting with your collaborators or partners, Microsoft has developed a new feature for Teams, its instant messaging software for professionals.

Microsoft announced at today’s Ignite 2018 conference that a new Background Blur feature would be available for all s. This feature uses artificial intelligence and facial recognition technology to distinguish faces and automatically blur a ’s background during a meeting.

This function was announced last March and then briefly proposed in a test version of the software. Now all s with Microsoft Office 365 can benefit from it.

To activate background blur during a video conversation in Microsoft Teams, simply go to the video conferencing menu at the bottom of the screen and click on “Blur background”.
