Use this Excel file to rigorously track your distances travelled in the workplace and calculate your allowances automatically from the 2014 mileage scale.

Instructions

Use the table at the top left to find out more about you and your vehicle. Choose the tax horses from the drop-down list.

Then you have two options.

– Enter the meter reading at one time on arrival and departure.

– Enter each trip.

This second possibility is particularly interesting if you want to keep a record of each trip with your comments but also and especially if you want to separate your business trips from your personal trips.

Enter the meter reading at the start and finish of each trip and the distance is calculated on its own in the last column. You can also enter the distances directly, but this will replace the formulas that will no longer be usable afterwards.

The Excel file automatically calculates the total travelled and the amount of the corresponding allowance.
